Assignment 2: Presentation

So here it is, the final assignment of this semester. Enjoy.

Assignment 2: Screen Shot

Some of the screen shot and their description.

Images are gathered and merged. I am trying to give a look which they are coming out from the monitor.

By using Transform > Warp, i managed to shrink the images, which look like a genie effect. After that i duplicate them to make them look like in a large portion.

By using technique from tutorial 4, group with previous layer,i managed to make a gradient like text effect. At first i want to make them look like a chrome effect but that will make the poster looks heavy and redundant.

Duplicate the text layer to make the shadow effect. I am using Gaussian blur plus some minor tweaking on Motion blur as well.

I also duplicate the iMac layer, then use again the gaussian blur to make a reflection. Here i skew the iMac with Edit>Transform>Skew.

For the footer image, i set the blending mode to multiply, which will eliminate the white background of the imported image, makes them fit perfectly with the poster and background color.

Tutorial 6 : Chrome Effect

I have to simplify this post, due to some unforeseen reason. These are some steps taken to achieve the look.

• Path selected
• Fill color of shape (new layer)

Work in channel:

• Create new channel for RGB
• Edit>stroke
• Blur>gaussian
• Duplicate the channel
• Move the layer> NUDGE
• Image calculation> combine 2 alpha channel
• Leads to a new alpha channel
• Play with Curve (Command+M)

Tutorial 6 : Texture

There are few methods and skills that i have learn from this tutorial. I will be dividing the post of this tutorial to 2. This is the first one.

Marble Effect/Other texture

We create a new layer

• Filter > Render > Clouds
• Again Render but with Different Clouds to make more contrast > play around with Levels to get more contrast

To add color, create new fill or adjustment layer.

Then we came into lighting effect.

• New layer, fill with white.
• Create alpha channel
• Filter>Render>clouds
• Adjust Levels for more contrast
• Comeback to RGB, fill color
• Filter>Lighting Effect
• Texture channel (ambience)

Adding detail:

• create new layer, fill color
• go back to alpha 1 > add noise
• go back to RGB>filter>render>lighting effect
• New layer, fill color
• channel, alpha 1
• render>fibers
• render>lighting effect

Adjust the fiber value, we get a wood/bark texture.

Project Objective

Learning process of implementing the multiple tools using Photoshop Software in creating the digital wallpaper regarding ‘MMU FOE Open Day’. In this wallpaper, I will be promoting the Engineering Faculty to the freshies and to the outsider.This wallpaper will provide them some knowledge towards the benefits of joining FOE in the future.

Approach

I’m creating digital wallpaper based on the pictures that I have taken via websites. Then, I’ll alter them by using the Adobe Photoshop CS2. The wallpaper will be in A4 size.

Main techniques that will be used will be layers,gaussian blur,layer mask and the layer options such as transparency and the hus,saturation option.

Comment

This assignment 2 will challenge in terms of promoting my own faculty in a creative way.
I need to search more ideas in creating it but i will try my best to utilize most of the tools in photoshop.
