Tutorial 6 : Texture

There are few methods and skills that i have learn from this tutorial. I will be dividing the post of this tutorial to 2. This is the first one.

Marble Effect/Other texture

We create a new layer
  • Filter > Render > Clouds
  • Again Render but with Different Clouds to make more contrast > play around with Levels to get more contrast


To add color, create new fill or adjustment layer.

Then we came into lighting effect.
  • New layer, fill with white.
  • Create alpha channel
  • Filter>Render>clouds
  • Adjust Levels for more contrast
  • Comeback to RGB, fill color
  • Filter>Lighting Effect
  • Texture channel (ambience)
Adding detail:
  • create new layer, fill color
  • go back to alpha 1 > add noise
  • go back to RGB>filter>render>lighting effect
  • New layer, fill color
  • channel, alpha 1
  • render>fibers
  • render>lighting effect




Adjust the fiber value, we get a wood/bark texture.




  • new layer, fill color, marque
  • alpha 2, gaussian blur
  • filter again>distort>glass
  • lighting effect
